A benchtop takes knives, heat, water and weight. Compact HPL is laminate all the way through, with no board inside it to swell.

What to look for

Compact HPL comes in 1320 × 3050 mm sheets, 0.7, 1, 4 and 12 mm thick: ask which suits your benchtop.

Some compact designs match synchronised woodgrains, so fronts and benchtop can share a decor.

Waterproof, fire resistant and scratch resistant, as made.
